The pool nobody has to know anything about
Squares is the only format here with no skill in it, and that is precisely what it is for. Nobody is at a disadvantage for not following the sport, which makes it the pool that works for an office, a family, or a party where half the room does not care who is playing.
Claiming is blind because the digits are drawn afterwards. There is no hunting for the zero and the seven, no advantage to claiming first, and nothing for anyone to be aggrieved about when the grid fills up.
Four chances, not one
Each quarter pays out on the score at the moment it ends, so a grid stays live all the way through rather than resolving once at the final whistle. A square that looked worthless at half time can win the third.
The board tracks itself: claimed squares, the draw, and each quarter’s winner as the scores come in off the live feed.
